The Appalachian Chemical Society is an academic/professional club of Appalachian State University. In addition to being a University club, we are affiliated with the American Chemical Society as a student chapter. The Appalachian Chemical Society accepts members from all majors interested in Chemistry.

Meetings are generally held twice a month and specific dates can be found in our Calendar tab. If you cannot make the meetings but would like to be part of the group, you can request to be added to our Facebook and AppSync pages. You may also reference our calendar to keep up with the events we will partake in. Our meetings usually involve discussions about chemistry, fundraising and outreach activities. We also like to have a demo preformed at each meeting.

Our club participates in a number of events and service projects every year. Our main outreach is performing scientific demonstrations for younger children to get them interested in science. We also do fundraisers that help contribute to a pizza fund for meetings.

We do have $5 dues each semester. If you are an American Chemical Society member that will cover you for the whole year, you will just need to provide proof. As a club we strive to have a focus on community outreach as well as building interpersonal relationships between members.
