The Appalachian Popular Programming Society offers recruitment at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. Information and dates are posted on the A.P.P.S. website, as well as on marketing around campus during the first few weeks of class. Members are welcome on multiple councils and are welcome to work on all events. However, we often have openings in our councils throughout the year.

APPS Leadership Opportunities:

3 Council officers per Council
Officers must adhere and believe strongly in the APPS Constitution, By-Laws, and the program philosophy of the organization as outlined. The Officers must maintain one (1) set office hour in the APPS office each week between the designated open office hours. Officers are responsible for helping the council Chairperson and Advisor with publicity, meeting minutes, and membership. An Officer shall preside over the weekly meetings of their specific committee in the absence of the Chairperson. The Officers will also provide feedback from the council meetings to their designated Vice President. This person is responsible for training council members on proper procedures, working closely with their officers and members to see all tasks are completed. Officers shall work to uphold the values of a student/staff partnership and shall be entrusted with the ethical standards, responsibility and powers of authority subject in serving the needs and constituents of the University

7 Chairpersons
Chairpersons must adhere and believe strongly in the APPS Constitution, By-Laws, and the program philosophy of the organization as outlined. The student Chairpersons must maintain three (3) set office hours in the APPS office each week between the designated open office hours. Chairpersons are responsible for exercising all or part of the contract and riders associated with events, and advertising their own programs through both standard and non-standard forms of publicity. The Chairperson shall preside over the weekly meetings of their specific committee and meet weekly with the council advisor. The Chairperson will also provide feedback from the council meeting at Executive meetings. This person is responsible for training council members on proper procedures, working closely with their officers and members to see all tasks are completed. Chairpersons shall work to uphold the values of a student/staff partnership and shall be entrusted with the ethical standards, responsibility and powers of authority subject in serving the needs and constituents of the University.

3 Vice Presidents
The three (3) Vice Presidents must adhere and believe strongly in the APPS Constitution, By-Laws, and the program philosophy of the organization as outlined. The student Chairpersons must maintain three (3) set office hours in the APPS office each week between the designated open office ours. Vice Presidents are responsible for three different areas in APPS: publicity, membership, and communications. The Vice Presidents must also meet weekly with the advisor, train council officers on their responsibilities and make sure they are adhered to during the year, attend at least one meeting per council per semester and be an active member in at least one council. She/he must also attend the APPS Executive Retreat. The Vice President shall also be held responsible for the fulfillment of duties of him/herself and the entire Cabinet as stated in Article I of the By-Laws.

President
The President shall convene and preside over the meetings of the Appalachian Popular Programming Society (APPS). The President shall serve as the official University representative for the Board. The President must maintain at least five (5) office hours in the APPS office each week between the designated open office hours, attend one meeting per council per semester and attend at least two (2) programs per council per semester. The President shall have the power to speak for the Cabinet in an official capacity. The President is the official executive cabinet liaison to the APPS advisors to resolve any issues. The President shall also be held responsible for the fulfillment of duties of him/herself and the entire Cabinet as stated in Article I of the By-Laws.
